2009 NORTH PERTH SOCCER LEAGUE RULES

GENERAL

1.   Shin pads must be worn by all players.
2.   No jewelry or casts may be worn with the exception of Medical Alert. All body piercing must be taped to the body
3.   Knee braces must not have any metal showing.
4.   Any soccer shoes or sports shoes can be worn with the exception of metal cleats.
5.   Players may wear hats with soft brims for sun protection; no peaked caps or hats with metal buckles. Bandanas and sweat bands may be worn
6.   Players signed in a select league may play in house league games
7.   Players may play only for one club in the North Perth League
8.   A team may use players from a younger team when short of players
9.   Players may play for only one team in year-end tournaments
10. A team that cannot field the minimum number of players for their division forfeits the game.
11. The home team must supply a C4 referee for all U14, U16 and U18 games. If a carded referee is not supplied, the game should be rescheduled. The visitors should be notified well in advance. If a team travels to their game, the coaches of both teams may agree to play with an approved person as referee.
12. Two weeks`notice must be given to change a scheduled game. Cnaceled game due to weather must have a date set within one week or 0-0 score will result. If the game has made it to half time when incelemnt weather occurs, the game stands as played.
13. If a game must be rescheduled after a teamhas traveled to the game site, the traveling team will become the host for the rescheduled game as they have already traveled once for the game.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline for U8 to U18 is the responsibility of North Perth League.

PROOF OF AGE (FOR ALL SCHEDULED LEAGUE AND PLAYOFF GAMES)

Clubs are responsible for establishing player`s proof of age. The opposing team may request a proof of age of any player at the start of the game; at half time or at the end of the game.  If the cluhb cannot establish proof of age within 48 hours, the requeting club can issue a `protest of game`. If a player is found to be overage at the end of the game, the requesting club a "protest of game". Any inconsistencies in a player's proof of age will be included in the "Referee Report". A coach may not remove his team from the field - if age is a question - or he/she will forfeit and wave his/her right to protest.

GAME SHEETS
Game sheets will be filled in only by the home team.
Any red or yellow cards handed out during a game must be called into the North Perth Head Referee after the game.

U6 & U8 RULES OF PLAY
1.  No offside
2.  Substitutions with any stop in play
3. 6 players per side
4. Minimum of 4 players
5.  20-minute halves
6.  Ball size 3

U10 DIVISION PLAY
1.  Substitutions on goal kicks, goals, kickoffs and throw-ins
2.  Substituted may go on the field to bring off players
3. 8 players per side
4. Minimum of 6 players
5.  25-minutes halves
6. Ball size 4

U12 DIVISION PLAY
1.  Substitutions on goal kicks, goals, kickoffs and at own throw-ins. You may substitute during the opposition's throw-in if they first request a substitution.
2.  Must play with at least 3 players of each sex. If you cannot field 3, you must play short
3.  11 players per side
4.  Minimum 7 players
5.  30-minute halves
6.  Ball size 4

U14, U16 & U18 DIVISION PLAY
1.  Substitutions on goal kicks, goals, kickoff and at throw-ins. You may substitute during the oppositions's throw-in if they first request a substitution.
2.  Must play with at least 3 players of each sex. If you cannot field 3, you must play short.
3.  11 players per side
4.  Minimum 7 players
5.  U14 - 35-minute halves
     U16 - 40-minute halves
     U18 - 45-minute halves
6.  Ball size 5

NOTES:
1.  Any exceptions must be agreed upon unanimously by both coaches and the referee during pre-game discussion.
2.  Half-time break length to be decided during pre-game discussion, usually 5 minutes.
3.  Ties will stand in regular season games but may be broken unofficially with a shoot-out for practice.
4.  Coaches may not make comments on game sheets.
